In 2024, the Scheer Foundation embarks on an ambitious new campaign to extend its mission of supporting women victims of abuse in Africa. Building on 18 years of dedicated service on the continent, the Foundation recognizes the critical role women play in the fabric of African societies—as fundamental pillars of family structures and community well-being.
Despite their pivotal role, women across Africa face harrowing violence in environments lacking protective measures. The Foundation is deeply concerned by the widespread violence against women, a glaring issue that demands immediate and robust action.
In response, the Scheer Foundation is proud to announce the upcoming construction of Centers for Abused Women. These centers are designed to offer sanctuary and support for women seeking to rebuild their lives free from abuse. The initiative reflects the Foundation's holistic approach to safeguarding the well-being of African families, emphasizing the undeniable link between the welfare of children and the empowerment of their mothers.
Endorsed by our chairman, the attached Chart details the Foundation's strategic plan to combat violence against women, alongside our ongoing efforts to protect children. These centers will not only provide immediate refuge but will also advocate for a Zero Tolerance policy towards violence against women, underscoring our commitment to creating safer, more nurturing environments.
The Scheer Foundation is honored to contribute to the fight against this critical issue, reaffirming our dedication to the protection and empowerment of women and children across Africa.
Founded in 2006, the Scheer Foundation has been a beacon of hope and support for vulnerable populations across Africa. Through a wide range of programs aimed at protecting and empowering children and women, the Foundation has made significant strides in addressing the challenges faced by these groups in various African countries.
